November Net Tax Revenues Down 0.1%

The State of Georgia’s net tax collections in November totaled almost $2.29 billion for a decrease of $2.4 million, or -0.1 percent, compared to November 2021 when net tax collections totaled just over $2.29 billion.

October Net Tax Revenues Up 9.3%

The State of Georgia’s net tax collections in October approached $2.71 billion for an increase of $230.2 million, or 9.3 percent, compared to October of FY 2022 when net tax collections totaled nearly $2.48 billion.  

Georgia Department of Revenue Extends Filing Deadline for Hurricane Ian Victims

The Georgia Department of Revenue will join the IRS in providing tax relief to the victims of Hurricane Ian in the impacted areas of Florida, South Carolina, and North Carolina.

September Net Tax Revenues Up 9.9%

Gov. Brian Kemp announced that Georgia’s September net tax collections totaled almost $3.1 billion, for an increase of $279.2 million, or 9.9 percent, compared to FY 2022, when net tax collections approached $2.82 billion. Year-to-date, through the end of one quarter, net tax revenue collections totaled roughly $7.62 billion, for an increase of $513.8 million, or 7.2 percent, compared to YTD September 2021.

Upcoming Filing Deadline for Extension Filers

The Georgia Department of Revenue (DOR) is reminding taxpayers that the income tax filing deadline for those filing an extension is Monday, October 17, 2022. Individuals who received a valid extension have until October 17th to file their returns without penalty.

Georgia Department of Revenue Recognized by NASCIO

The National Association of State CIOs (NASCIO) has announced that the Georgia Department of Revenue is a finalist for a State IT Recognition Award. Georgia’s submission was titled, Cloud and Taxes, That’s Certain: DOR’s Tax System Migration Project, and it is a finalist in the category of Enterprise IT Management Initiatives.

August Net Tax Revenues Up 8.5%

The State of Georgia’s net tax collections for August totaled nearly $2.31 billion for an increase of $180.4 million, or 8.5 percent, over August 2021 (FY 2022), when net tax collections approached $2.13 billion.

Georgia Department of Revenue Prepares for Alcohol Licensure System Upgrade

The Department of Revenue’s Centralized Alcohol Licensing Portal (ALP) will offer a centralized renewal process for retail alcohol licenses beginning September 6, 2022. Georgia taxpayers will utilize The Georgia Tax Center (GTC) to renew their state and local retail alcohol licenses. Local licensing authorities will receive renewal applications through ALP similar to the initial application process.

Georgia Department of Revenue Prepares for System Upgrade and Outage over Labor Day Weekend

The Georgia Department of Revenue will be performing a system upgrade over the Labor Day weekend.  As a result of this upgrade, the Georgia Tax Center (GTC) and Alcohol Licensure Portal will be offline Friday, September 2 at 8:00 pm through Monday, September 5 at 8:00 pm.

July Net Tax Revenues Up 2.5%

The State of Georgia’s net tax collections during the first month of FY 2023 totaled nearly $2.21 billion for an increase of $54.2 million, or 2.5 percent, over July 2021 (FY ‘22), when net tax collections approached $2.16 billion.
