Senate Bill 371 Now in Effect

On May 7, 2018, Governor Deal signed Senate Bill 371 (SB 371).  This bill became effective on July 1, 2018, and allows political subdivisions (counties, municipalities, and consolidated governments) in Georgia to obtain a list of vendors who filed a sales and use tax return in their jurisdiction for a specified filing period.

Gov. Nathan Deal today announced that Georgia’s net tax collections for May totaled almost $1.76 billion, for an increase of $31.5 million, or 1.8 percent, compared to last year when net tax collections totaled nearly $1.73 billion. Year-to-date, net tax collections totaled $20.73 billion, for an increase of $940.8 million, or 4.8 percent, compared to May 2017, when net tax revenues totaled roughly $19.79 billion.

Gov. Nathan Deal today announced that Georgia’s net tax collections for April totaled $2.31 billion, for an increase of $48.7 million, or 2.2 percent, compared to last year when net tax collections totaled nearly $2.26 billion. 

Deal: March tax revenues down -0.5 percent

Gov. Nathan Deal today announced that Georgia’s net tax collections for March totaled nearly $1.56 billion, for a decrease of $8.2 million, or -0.5 percent, compared to last year when net tax collections totaled almost $1.57 billion. Year-to-date, net tax collections totaled $16.66 billion, for an increase of $860.6 million, or 5.4 percent, compared to March 2017, when net tax revenues totaled $15.8 billion nine months into the fiscal year.

Deal: February tax revenues up 4.8 percent

Gov. Nathan Deal today announced that Georgia’s net tax collections for February totaled $1.23 billion, for an increase of nearly $55.9 million, or 4.8 percent, compared to last year when net tax collections totaled almost $1.18 billion. Year-to-date, net tax collections totaled $15.1 billion, for an increase of roughly $868.8 million, or 6.1 percent, over February 2017, when net tax revenues totaled $14.23 billion.

Deal: January tax revenues up 16.7 percent

Gov. Nathan Deal today announced that Georgia’s net tax collections for January totaled nearly $2.57 billion, for an increase of $368.2 million, or 16.7 percent, compared to last year when net tax collections totaled $2.2 billion. Year-to-date, net tax collections totaled $13.87 billion, for an increase of $812.9 million, or 6.2 percent, over January 2017, when net tax revenues totaled roughly $13.06 billion.
