The Department of Revenue is reminding taxpayers of various upcoming tax filing deadlines. Taxpayers who needed additional time to file their individual income taxes, corporate taxes, or partnership taxes from the original April 15, 2019 deadline must file by Tuesday, October 15, 2019.
Gov. Brian Kemp announced today that Georgia’s net tax collections for August totaled roughly $1.75 billion, for a decrease of $50.3 million, or -2.8 percent, compared to August 2018, when net tax collections totaled just over $1.80 billion. Year-to-date, net tax revenue collections totaled nearly $3.59 billion, for an increase of $5.4 million, or 0.2 percent, compared to FY 2019 after two months.
In an effort to more effectively serve Georgians throughout the state, the Department of Revenue is launching a pilot program which will expand customer service hours for Department call centers. Today, agents from the Department of Revenue’s Office of Special Investigations, along with Deputies from Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office, arrested two car dealers for conducting a title scam out of their dealerships, Georgia Cash Cars, which had locations in both Acworth and Dalton.
