Department of Revenue Streamlines the Qualified Rural Hospital Organization Expense Tax Credit Reporting Process
The Georgia Department of Revenue has removed the requirement for taxpayers to confirm their donations to receive the Qualified Rural Hospital Organization (RHO) Expense Tax Credit. Because qualified hospitals already report this information, the Department removed this duplicative procedure.
Also, as provided by House Bill 186, the time to make donations to qualified hospitals has been extended to 180 days. Please note that donations still must be made by the end of the calendar year.
Both changes apply to any new pre-approvals as well as to any pre-approvals which were in process at the time of the change.
