Georgia Department of Revenue officials want to remind taxpayers as they file this season to also check to see if they have unclaimed property being held by the state.

Each year the Department of Revenue becomes the care taker of citizen’s unclaimed property including money.

“It is easy to check and only takes a few minutes with our new website,” said Commissioner Lynne Riley.
