Commissioner Announces Appointments For Leadership Positions

Commissioner Lynne Riley has announced new appointments for leadership positions. Scott Graham will serve as Deputy Commissioner, Becky East will serve as the new Chief Financial Officer, and Ken Nash will serve as Director of Finance. William Gaston also joins the Department of Revenue as Legislative Liaison. Ann Williamson will now be Director of Human Resources after serving as Interim Director.

Scott Graham

Scott comes to the Department of Revenue with a wealth of public sector experience, having served as Chief of Staff for three Fulton County Commissioners, including Commissioner Lynne Riley from 2004-2010.  At Fulton County, he acted as the senior policy and political advisor to the Commissioner, prepared and monitored the annual budget, served as liaison to the Fulton County Board of Commissioners, Fulton County Manager, Fulton County Attorney, and served as the media spokesperson for the Commissioner.  More recently, Scott has worked in private sector in the area of benefits planning.  Scott holds a Bachelor’s Degree from Georgia State University with a major in Political Science and a minor in History. Scott and his wife Stephanie reside in Gainesville with their two sons. They attend First Presbyterian Church.

Becky East

Becky began her service to the state in 1988 working with the Department of Human Resources. In 2002 she served as the budget director for the Georgia State Patrol, Department of Public Safety. She then accepted the position on Budget Director with the Department of Corrections in 2006. In July of 2008 she was appointed to serve as the as the Administration Division Director which also includes the role as the agency’s Chief Financial Officer. Becky graduated from Columbus State University in 2010 with a Master’s in Public Administration.

Ken Nash

Ken comes to the Department of Revenue having served as Budget Director at both the Georgia Department of Corrections and the Georgia Department of Juvenile Justice.  Prior to being named the Budget Director, Ken served in a variety of progressively responsible positions in both finance and policy at the Georgia Department of Corrections, the Governor’s Office of Planning and Budget, and the Georgia Technology Authority.  Ken holds a Bachelor’s Degree and a Master’s Degree from Bob Jones University and a Master’s Degree in Public Administration from Valdosta State University.

William Gaston

William comes to DOR from the Office of Governor Nathan Deal where he served under the Governor’s Fellowship Program.  William worked in the Office of the Chief Operating Officer, where he completed research.  Prior to this role, he served in the Office of Constituent Services.  William is a graduate of the School of Public and International Affairs at the University of Georgia with a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science.

Ann Williamson

Ann most recently served as the Assistant Director, Human Resources, and led the Strategic Staffing Section, the HR Operations Section, and the Training Section.  She joined DOR in 2004 and has held several increasingly responsible positions, eight years of which were in a management or senior management role.  She has been a significant contributor to several strategic initiatives, including the DOR Leadership Conference, the Advanced Leadership Program (ALP), the DOR Management Academy, and the DOR Leadership Mentoring Program.  Ann is certified as a Senior Human Resources Professional (SPHR) and holds a B.A. in Psychology from Wesleyan College.  She and her family reside in Lilburn, Georgia.
