Forgot/Reset/Locked Password or Username in GTC

Reset Password

Georgia Tax Center

This can be completed online using the Georgia Tax Center (GTC)

  1. Go to the Georgia Tax Center

  2. Click on Forgot Password?

  3. Enter your Username (case sensitive) and click on Reset Password

  4. You will receive an email (from “No Reply”) with instructions to reset the password. Click on the link provided in the email (Note: The link in this email is only valid for 60 minutes)

  5. Answer the secret question

  6. Enter a new password and re-enter to confirm

  7. Click OK to return to the GTC homepage

Reset Username

IMPORTANT: In order to receive the confirmation email, you must have access to the email account you enter

  1. Go to the Georgia Tax Center

  2. Click on Forgot Username?

  3. Enter your email address

  4. Click on Email Username

  5. You will see a confirmation screen. You will receive an email with all the email addresses associated with the email address entered

Locked Out of Account

I exceeded password attempts and got locked out. What do I do?

  1. Go to the Georgia Tax Center

  2. Click on Forgot Password? and follow the steps

Did Not Receive My Authentication Code Text/Email

  • I have not received my authentication code text/email 
    • Be aware that authentication code emails may take up to 15 minutes to arrive
    • Check your junk or spam folders
    • Request to receive an authentication code via both text and email.
  • I received my authentication code, but it is not working
    • AT&T customers: the authentication code may have too many digits, try deleting the last number of the code
