Homestead Valuation Freeze - Habersham County has implemented an exemption that will freeze the valuation of property at the base year valuation for as long as the homeowner owns and resides on the property.  Even as property values continue to rise the homeowner's taxes will be based upon the base year valuation.  Habersham County's exemption is for county taxes.  The freeze applies to the house and up to five acres of land.  The base value would change due to deletions or additions to the property.
(HB1166,2002 – Amended by SB629, 2006)

Habersham County is on the 12-month staggered registration system.  Vehicle tags are sold at the Tax Commissioner’s office.  Hours are Monday - Friday, 8:00 - 5:00.
