Position Duties:

In the Rome Regional Office, under broad supervision, performs work of considerable difficulty involving the supervision of a group of revenue agents responsible for tax investigations, collections, audits, and taxpayer assistance.  May also supervise clerical employees in support of revenue collection activities.  Performs personnel-related functions, such as interviewing, hiring, and training.  May perform the following work functions: Assist the Regional Manager in supervising the daily operations of a regional office in relation to delinquent tax collections and technical taxpayer investigations; Coordinate regional office activities in the absence of a regional manager; Serve as a specialist in legal and procedural aspects of collecting delinquent taxes.

Minimum Entry Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in a related area (business, accounting, or finance) AND Four years of related experience (accounting, bookkeeping, auditing, tax, law, collections)

OR One year of experience at the lower level [Revenue Agent (AL)] or at an equivalent position

OR Four years of experience in the examination, preparation, and/or audit of tax documents

A thorough knowledge of sales and use tax, corporate income tax, and withholding tax rules and regulations
Bachelor’s degree in a related area (business, accounting, or finance)
