Update: W2 and 1099 File Acknowledgements
The Department experienced a technical issue from January 13th through January 30th where acknowledgments for W2 and 1099 files submitted on GTC were encrypted. We have resolved the issue and the acknowledgements are now readable.
What you need to know:
- W2 and 1099 files submitted on or after Feb. 1st now have readable acknowledgements
What you need to do:
Users should resubmit W2 and 1099 files submitted prior to Feb. 1st if you received an electronic message stating “One or more employers in the W-2 file “file name” failed to process” or for 1099 the message indicates “your file was rejected”
- If you are resubmitting the original file with no updates, you must change at least 1 character in the RA record for W2 or 1 character in the T record for 1099, this will tell our system this is not a Duplicate. You will receive a readable acknowledgement showing the error(s)
- If you were able to identify and correct the errors in the original file or made any changes, you can submit it without changing any characters. You will receive a message that it processed or if it still has errors you’ll receive a readable acknowledgement
We apologize for any inconvenience.
