- County Tag Offices should process titles for vehicles registering under IRP using Form T-146 IRP Exemption to Title Ad Valorem Tax Application to exempt applicants from paying TAVT. Once vehicles are registered under IRP, they will be assessed Alternative Ad Valorem Tax (AAVT), which is distributed annually to the County.
- County Tag Offices may not handle IRP registrations or function as a service provider.
- Once the title application is complete, the County Tag Office should refer customers to the Georgia Trucking Portal to complete IRP registrations electronically per IRP Registration Instructions.
