How will the Georgia DRIVES Upgrade Impact Me?

For the Georgia DRIVES system upgrade, all vehicle registration and titling services will be unavailable statewide from Friday, May 24th – Monday, May 27th. 

  • Beginning May 21st, some county tag and motor vehicle office hours may be reduced in preparation for the system upgrade.
  • Customers are encouraged to process your tag renewals and other vehicle related transactions before the system upgrade week to avoid delays. 
  • If you plan to renew in June, please allow extra time to process tag renewals.
  • The Department of Driver Services (Driver License, etc.) will not be affected.

What is Georgia DRIVES?

The Georgia Driver Record and Integrated Vehicle Enterprise System (DRIVES) is a system upgrade to update and enhance the title and vehicle registration functions of the Department of Revenue. The Georgia DRIVES system will utilize modern technology to streamline existing processes and enable more online services. The Department of Revenue is implementing the system upgrade during Memorial Day weekend. The new system will go live on May 28, 2019.
