Department of Revenue Automatically Extending 2019 Filing Deadline
The Georgia Department of Revenue is automatically extending the 2019 income tax filing and payment deadline to July 15, 2020. Vehicle registrations that expire between March 16, 2020 and May 14, 2020 are being extended through May 15, 2020.

How do I file my return electronically?
You can either go to a practitioner who offers electronic filing or you can purchase the software from one of the approved software vendors. My corporation owes money; what options do I have to make a payment?
The Department of Revenue now offers three options in making payments for your current years return;
- Pay by using the Georgia Tax Center, you will need to register if you are not already registered.
- Pay by Credit Card. To make a payment, please go to Official Payments or call 800-272-9829 (1-800-2PAY-TAX) using jurisdiction code 2006 for business taxes. A small convenience fee is charged by the processing company.
- Mail your payment. Please include the PV-Corp voucher with the payment. Please do not mail cash.
Am I mandated to file electronically?
If you are required or you are voluntarily paying electronically, or you are federally required to file the return electronically, you are required to submit the associated Georgia return electronically. Also beginning with 2017 returns, a return is required to be electronically filed if the return generates, allocates, claims, utilizes, or includes in any manner a series 100 credit.
What are the procedures for being accepted as a participant for the State of Georgia electronic filing?
There is no separate application or registration process for the State of Georgia. You can only participate in Georgia electronic filing if you are approved by the IRS. Visit the IRS webpage for more information.
How do I file returns electronically for my clients?
You must use software that has been approved by the IRS as well as the State of Georgia. Federal and state tax returns can be filed separately.
