Why did DOR send the letter?
- By law, DOR is required to send you this notification on behalf of the local governmental agency who issued you the citation. Further, DOR is required by law to refuse to renew your registration and block the transfer of your vehicle title until you resolve this matter with the local governmental agency who issued you the citation.
What happens after I get the fee/penalty cleared?
- The local governmental agency that placed the hold will notify DOR of payment and you will be able to complete your registration.
