House Bill 337 - Searchable Electronic Database for State Tax Liens

What is House Bill 337?

Effective January 1, 2018 - House Bill 337 (HB 337) allows the Georgia Department of Revenue to electronically file State tax liens, establish an online method to search for the liens, and provide a method to obtain a certificate of lien clearance prior to the transfer of real property.

To meet these requirements, the Department has developed SOLVED (Satisfaction OLiens Via Electronic Database).

Who is Affected?

HB 337 affects anyone involved in the transfer of real property. This includes property owners, closing attorneys, title insurance professionals, real estate professionals, mortgage bankers or others seeking to determine the existence of State tax liens.

What's Changing?

  • Modernizes the process of recording tax liens issued by Georgia Department of Revenue
  • Enhanced, centralized location for researching state tax liens online
  • Beginning January 1, 2018, all State tax liens will have a single 10-year term
  • Statewide attachment of State tax liens
