DOR Extends relief to Hurricane Matthew Victims

The Georgia Department of Revenue is providing tax relief to the victims of Hurricane Matthew that took place beginning on October 4, 2016, in certain Georgia counties. This announcement coincides with the relief announcements issued by the Internal Revenue Service.

Deal: September tax revenues up 2.5 percent

October 7, 2016

Gov. Nathan Deal today announced that net tax collections for September totaled approximately $2.01 billion, for an increase of $48.3 million, or 2.5 percent, compared to September 2015. Year-to-date, net tax revenue collections totaled $5.31 billion, for an increase of $183 million, or 3.6 percent, compared to last year, when net tax revenues totaled nearly $5.13 billion at the end of the first quarter. 

Deal: August tax revenues up 6.8 percent

Gov. Nathan Deal today announced that Georgia’s net tax collections for August totaled $1.69 billion, for an increase of $108 million, or 6.8 percent, compared to August 2015, when net tax collections totaled $1.58 billion. Year-to-date, net tax revenue receipts totaled almost $3.3 billion, for an increase of nearly $134.7 million, or 4.3 percent, compared to last year.

Deal: July tax revenues up 1.7 percent

August 8, 2016

Gov. Nathan Deal today announced that Georgia’s net tax collections for July totaled almost $1.61 billion, for an increase of $26.7 million, or 1.7 percent, compared to July 2015, when net tax collections totaled $1.58 billion. Gross tax revenue receipts totaled $2.16 billion for the month, for an increase of $78.9 million, or 3.8 percent, over last year.

Deal: June tax revenues up 0.7 percent

July 12, 2016

Gov. Nathan Deal today announced that Georgia’s net tax collections for June totaled roughly $1.91 billion, for an increase of $13.4 million, or 0.7 percent, over June 2015. Year-to-date, net tax revenue collections totaled $20.81 billion, for an overall increase of nearly $1.79 billion, or 9.4 percent, compared to June 2015, when net tax revenues totaled $19.03 billion.
