Biography - Becky East

Becky began her career with the State of Georgia in 1988 working with the Department of Human Resources.  While employed with DHR, Becky completed her Bachelor’s Degree at Mercer University in 1995.  In 1997, Becky worked as a Budget Officer for the Division of Public Health in the Department of Human Resources.  In 2002, she was promoted to serve as the Budget Director for the Georgia State Patrol, Department of Public Safety.  She served in that capacity until accepting the position of Budget Director with the Department of Corrections in 2006. 

In July 2008, she was appointed to serve as the Administration Division Director for the Department of Corrections which also includes serving as the agency’s Chief Financial Officer.  In this role she had oversight of all the financials for GDC’s 1.1 billion dollar annual budget, Engineering and Construction Services, Accounting, Care & Custody, Purchasing, Audits, Budget and Georgia Correctional Industries. 

Becky has completed the Corrections Leadership Institute, Executive Leadership Institute, and graduated from Columbus State University in May 2010 with a Masters in Public Administration.

Becky joined the Department of Revenue in January 2015 as the Chief Financial Officer. She is responsible for all the Financials, Fleet Management, Real Estate, Leases and Human Resources.
